Northern Edge was They Eat Culture’s new creative development programme.

We are really passionate about having an impact on the development of the cultural sector in Preston and Lancashire. We see the huge amount of creative talent coming out of our local universities and want to offer support and guidance to those developing emerging careers in the arts. Building on our specialism in socially engaged practice we are also keen to work with more established artists who want to take their practice directly into communities and explore ways of working that make change and have a real social impact.

Northern Edge offered:

Associate Artists scheme – working with artists and producers to develop new projects that link with our programmes of work and create great new art to be sited and presented here.

Emerging arts micro commissions, with technical production and project development support.

Creative placements and internships with us and a range of other businesses across the region, supported by UCLan’s Unite with Business programme through our Northern Edge network (click here to join the network).
