Foxton Lives is how we talk about the work that unfolds from our innovative partnership and shared, engaged practice, which links independent social and arts work with realities of the people who use the Foxton Centre.
Foxton Lives, initiated in 2009, has embedded Ruth Heritage, cultural activist, filmmaker, and Creative Director of They Eat Culture, into the daily life of the Foxton Centre. From there, we invite other creative-thinking, independent-minded people and organisations to work with us, to make things happen, together with the community.
The innovative arts and social practice partnership project is relaunched in August 2015.
What’s New? Foxton Lives 2015 and beyond
Is an arts & cross-media project, appearing online, on the streets through live art and games, and spaces for activity, and on the screen.
This trailer was made in June 2013 by the Foxton community through the participatory media work and community led co-design, for an audience of partners, funders, and commissioners from across the broadcast and digital media documentary community, and to show the wider community what we plan to achieve together.
Project 360
An innovative approach to tackling long-term homelessness
Placing the client at the centre of 4 partners, The Foxton Centre, Housing Advice Service, a private landlord, and They Eat Culture, Project 360 is an innovative partnership approach built on social arts practice and the Housing First model.
We create meaningful activity based on social need, working towards reducing long-term homelessness.
Our shared creative practice is an open engagement, a conversation between us and the place where we live.
This pilot work is supported by Foxton Centre’s Off the Street Fund, Lancashire County Council.
